Mollie account
For business bank account holders who want to receive payments on their own Mollie account
Own Mollie account
Dashboard > Bank account > Add Business Bank account > Add Mollie account
For business users, it is also possible to create their own Mollie account or link an existing Mollie account.
Business users need to have a business bank account and a trade register number, e.g.:
- Netherlands: Kamer van Koophandel nummer (KvK)
- Belgium: Company number (Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen, KBO)
- France: Régistre du Commerce et des Sociétés (RCS), Répertoire des Métiers (RM)
- UK: Company registration number (CRN)
- Germany: Trade Register number (HRB number)
- Austria: Firmenbuchnummer
All donations - minus platform and transaction costs - will be credited to your business bank account from your own Mollie account without intervention from Steunactie. You can determine the payout frequency yourself in your Mollie account.
The transaction costs are charged directly by Mollie and differ from the transaction costs that Steunactie charges to users who link a bank account to their action. Rates of Mollie are per successful transaction and exclusive of VAT. For an overview of the rates of Mollie click here.
Verification process Mollie
When you go to Bank account in your Dashboard, you will be given the option to sign up either a private bank account or a business bank account. If you choose a business bank account, you can then choose between registering your business bank account or setting up a Mollie account and linking it to your fundraiser(s).
An application for a new Mollie account must go through Mollie's onboarding and verification process.
An existing Mollie account can be linked immediately without verification.
When creating a new Mollie account, the following information will be requested:
- Name and address details
- name stakeholder(s)
- name of company or organisation
- trade register number
- business bank account number
- valid proof of identity of the directors/stakeholders
- a completed UBO form
- test payment of €0.01
The verification process of a Mollie account takes +/- 5 working days.
Important!
After verification, payment methods still need to be set up in your Mollie account. As long as no payment methods are set up in your own Mollie account, donations will go via Steunactie's Mollie account. Only after activation of payment methods in your own Mollie account will donations go via your own Mollie account.
Why are only business organizations allowed to use a direct Mollie link?
This is due to legislation. Only organisations, companies, or foundations that have a business bank account can use this option.
Can I start my fundraiser without adding and/or linking my bank account?
You can start your fundraising campaign immediately and link to your own Mollie account later. The donations you receive - before your own Mollie account was approved and linked to your fundraising campaign - will then come in via Steunactie's Mollie account (as opposed to your own Mollie account).
It is not possible to add donations received via Steunactie's Mollie account to your own Mollie account.
Therefore, in order to pay out these donations, you need to add your business bank account (the same business bank account that you used for your own Mollie account) separately to your Steunactie account.
All donations (received via Steunactie's Mollie account and/or via your own Mollie account) can be followed 24/7 in your dashboard of your Steunactie account.
Please note that we can only pay out donations received in the initial period - processed through Steunactie's Mollie account - after your own Mollie account request has been verified and approved and you have set up your own payment methods in your own Mollie account.
Linking an existing mollie account
Dashboard > Bank account > Add Business Bank account > Add Mollie account
If you already have a Mollie account, you can easily add and link it to your Steunactie account. You don't have to go through the Mollie signup/verification process again.
Setting up payment methods & API-key
You have registered your own Mollie account via Steunactie.
When your Mollie account is verified, you will receive an API key from Mollie. You can ignore this. The API key is intended for web builders who want to build the Mollie payment system into their website.
This is not necessary at Steunactie because your Mollie account is automatically linked to your Steunactie action page. All you have to do is set up your own chosen payment methods in your Mollie account.
You do that as follows:
1. Login to your Mollie account
2. Click on the name of your account in the top left-hand corner
3. Go to Organisation settings
4. Go to Profiles and choose your profile
5. In your profile, choose Online payment methods
6. Choose and activate the desired payment methods
It may take some time for the chosen payment methods to be activated.
After creating and activating your fundraiser page, it is immediately active and can receive donations.
As long as your own Mollie account has not yet been verified and/or no payment methods have been selected, donations will be received and handled via the Mollie account of Steunactie itself.
Therefore, it is important that - in addition to registering your own Mollie account - you also add the business bank account linked to your own Mollie account separately in the dashboard of your Steunactie account. This allows us to pay you directly for all donations received and processed in the initial period by Steunactie itself, before your own Mollie account was activated and taken into use.
This way, you can start receiving donations immediately, even before your own Mollie account has been verified and taken into use.
As soon as your own Mollie account has been verified and payment methods have been activated, donations will automatically flow through your own Mollie account.
Please note that we can only disburse donations received in the initial period - processed through Steunactie's Mollie account - after your own Mollie account request has been verified and approved.
